Every filler, one page: match the machine to your product and volume

"Filling machine" covers everything from a ₹12,000 tabletop unit that doses juice into pouches to a ₹20-lakh automatic line that fills 50 bottles a minute. Buying the wrong one means either hand-filling at midnight or paying for capacity you never use. This page maps the whole filling family with real India price bands, so you can shortlist the right machine in minutes.

The five filling technologies

Digital tabletop liquid fillers (around ₹11,000–₹17,000) — compact single or double-nozzle digital units for milk, water, juice and thin oils. Operator places the bottle, the machine doses a set volume. The entry point for startups, cloud kitchens and lab batches: a single-nozzle unit suits a few hundred fills a day; the double-nozzle roughly doubles that.

Manual paste fillers (indicative ₹10,000–₹30,000) — hopper, lever, one nozzle, 5–50 ml doses. No power, no air. For creams, sauces, gels and pastes at a few hundred fills a day — cosmetics startups and artisanal food brands.

Semi-automatic paste fillers (₹29,000–₹1,50,000) — pneumatic piston with a 45–50 kg hopper, foot pedal or auto-cycle, 50–500 ml or 100–1000 ml ranges, ±1% repeatability. The workhorse for small-to-mid cosmetic, food and pharma units doing 500–3,000 fills a day.

Semi-automatic oil fillers (₹40,000–₹1,50,000) — gravity or piston fillers with diving nozzles for foaming oils, drip-free valves and no-bottle-no-fill sensors. The standard for regional edible-oil brands.

Automatic multi-head lines (₹3,50,000–₹20,00,000+) — 4–8 heads on a conveyor with PLC control for tens of thousands of bottles a day. Contract packers and established brands only.

Which filler matches your product?

  • Milk, water, juice in bottles/pouches: digital tabletop liquid filler — single nozzle for trials and labs, double nozzle when volume grows.
  • Creams, sauces, gels, honey, pastes: manual filler under ~500 fills/day; semi-auto piston filler above that, especially past 1,000/day.
  • Edible oil: semi-auto oil filler with diving nozzles and drip-free valves; SS304 contact parts minimum.
  • Wide range (30 ml jars to 1 L bottles): semi-auto with stepless volume adjustment — manual units top out around 50 ml.
  • Tens of thousands of bottles a day: automatic multi-head line with PLC — anything less will bottleneck your line.

How to choose: five checks before you pay

  1. Product first, machine second. Bring your actual product and containers to the trial. Viscosity decides everything — test with your oil or cream, never water.
  2. Weigh the trial. Fill 50 units, weigh the first, middle and last. Demand ±1% repeatability on semi-autos.
  3. Contact materials in writing. SS304 minimum for food/cosmetics; SS316 for pharma-grade. Get the specification on the invoice.
  4. Cleaning and changeover. Oil and cream go rancid in dead corners. Ask how the product path disassembles and how long a washdown takes.
  5. Service within reach. A filler down is a line down. Confirm who services the machine within 100 km of your factory and the wearing-parts prices before you pay.
