Every sealer, one page: pick the right seal for your product

A seal is what stands between your food and the outside world — moisture, air, contamination, tampering. But "sealing machine" covers six very different technologies, and buying the wrong one means melted pouches, leaky bottles or money wasted on capacity you never use. This page maps the whole family with real India price bands, so you can match the machine to your container in minutes.

The six sealing technologies

Band sealers (around ₹19,680) — the pouch workhorse. A heated band seals plastic pouches continuously as they ride a conveyor. Default choice for snacks, spices, dry fruits, tea and anything in a pillow pouch. Fast, simple, and the cheapest per-pack seal you can buy.

Impulse sealers — the tabletop cousin: press, seal, release. Best for very low volumes or odd-size pouches that don't fit a band sealer's conveyor. The entry point for home businesses.

Tray sealing machines (around ₹30,000 semi-automatic) — heat-seals film lids onto rigid trays: ready meals, thalis, sweets, fresh produce. The cloud-kitchen standard; semi-automatic units handle 5–8 portion trays per cycle.

Induction cap sealers (around ₹10,455 handheld) — seals an aluminium foil liner inside the bottle cap using induction heat. The tamper-evident seal customers expect on oils, juices, sauces and pharma-style products. Handheld units suit small batches; inline units do hundreds of bottles per minute.

Vacuum sealing machines (around ₹59,999 automatic) — removes air before sealing to extend shelf life dramatically: snacks, ready-to-eat, frozen foods, coffee. Pays for itself in reduced spoilage and premium positioning.

Shrink sleeve labeling (around ₹1,30,000 semi-automatic) — technically labeling, functionally the finishing touch: a printed shrink film wraps the full container for 360° branding plus a tamper-evident seal. Standard on beverages and personal care.

Which sealer matches your container?

  • Pillow pouch (snacks, spices, grains): band sealer. Add a vacuum sealer if shelf life is the selling point.
  • Stand-up pouch / doypack: band sealer with the right jaw width; check your pouch's seal width before ordering.
  • PET/HDPE bottle: induction cap sealer for the tamper-evident foil seal, plus a capping machine to apply the caps consistently.
  • Rigid tray (meals, sweets, produce): tray sealing machine matched to your tray size — measure the tray, not the catalogue photo.
  • Full-body branding: shrink sleeve labeling machine after the cap is sealed.

How to choose: five checks before you pay

  1. Container first, machine second. Bring your actual pouch, bottle or tray to the demo. Seal width, tray depth and bottle diameter decide everything.
  2. Seal strength test. Fill a sealed pack with air, squeeze it, drop it from waist height. A seal that fails in the demo fails in dispatch.
  3. Speed vs reality. A band sealer rated at 12 m/min means nothing if your operator feeds 4 pouches a minute. Match throughput to your line.
  4. Consumables and spares. Heating elements, Teflon belts and sealing jaws wear out. Ask the price and availability of each wearing part today.
  5. Service within reach. A sealer down is a line down. Confirm who services the machine within 100 km of your factory before you pay.
